This event does not repeat

Join us in celebrating World Wetlands Day with a slow stroll around Vancouver’s Water Center, the wetlands and the Columbia River. World Wetlands Day raises awareness about the importance of wetland ecosystems and celebrates all the life they support. The 50 acres of wetlands adjacent to the Water Center provide critical habitat for numerous birds, and barren winter trees provide excellent viewing conditions. Expect to walk 1.5 miles on uneven terrain, sandy and muddy surfaces. Binoculars will be available to borrow. Suitable for adults and ages 6 and older.

Registration required. Please sign up here: https://www.cityofvancouver.us/events/winter-birds-of-the-wetlands/

Vancouver’s Water Center wetlands are home to many Columbia River animals. Learn how to interpret the clues left behind by learning foot morphology and gaits of our common wildlife residents. Class will be held outside, rain or shine. This class is great for beginners who want to grow their pattern recognition and animal tracking skills.

This class is suitable for adults and youth ages 10 and older. Expect to go slowly, often standing in one place, as we decipher the tracks we find. Plan to be off-trail and in sandy areas with uneven terrain and mud. All minors need to be accompanied by an adult.
