Vancouver Audubon Monthly Meeting: Audubon Wenas Campout History with Carol Kohler

From May 06, 2025 6:30 pm until May 06, 2025 8:15 pm
Categories: Community Events

Every spring, Washington State’s Audubon Chapters, wildlife lovers, and their friends gather in the Wenas Valley, located on the east slope of the Cascade Mountains between Ellensburg and Yakima. 2025 will mark the 60th year of this event. Carol Kohler has attended the Wenas Campout every year since 1999.

Carol will present a look at the beginnings of the Wenas Campout through the present day. Learn who the founding members were and how the campout has evolved over the years. Find out what the campout is like today and the many activities that are offered. From birdwatching, to hiking, wildflower trips, nature sketching classes, musical afternoons, and more, there is something for everyone and everyone is welcome.

Carol has been a member of Vancouver Audubon for more than 30 years. Born and raised in Vancouver, she has lived in Clark County her whole life. She loves birdwatching and feeding birds at her home.
